The George Peabody Society is a non-profit organization created for the purpose of seeking and applying for funds beneficial to the Peabody Institute Libary in order to augment municipal appropriations, State aid and Trustee funds. This organization is run by the current board of Library Trustees.
Who Was George Peabody?
George Peabody, founder of the Peabody Institute Library, is considered by many to be the founding father of modern philanthropy. Because George Peabody knew the importance of charity and generosity, the Peabody Institute Library has grown and developed to become one of the most valuable resources for the residents and businesses of the Town of Danvers and surrounding communities.
DONATING TO THE GEORGE PEABODY SOCIETY
Donations of any size will be accepted by the George Peabody Society. These tax deductible donations will help support the goals and objectives of the Library.
Every year, thousands of library cardholders in Danvers and surrounding communities borrow more than a quarter of a million books and other media from the Peabody Intitute Library. Your gift will be greatly appreciated and enjoyed for many years to come.
