Patrick Recommends: New Roleplaying Games at the Peabody Institute of Danvers

July brings four new core roleplaying game books to the Peabody Institute of Danvers. The Call of Cthulhu Keeper Rulebook, a vital resource for running a Call of Cthulhu 7th edition campaign. Our Starfinder collection is rounded out with the Starfinder Alien Archive, a supplement for both players and gamemasters. The daring world of Théah awaits in the 7th Sea Core Rulebook. Mythic fantasy meets Noir Mystery in the City of Mist Core Rulebook.

Call of Cthulhu Keeper Rulebook

Finally The Stars Are Right! The Call of Cthulhu Keeper Rulebook is one of two core books needed to run a game of Call of Cthulhu 7th edition. This Keeper resource contains the monsters, gods, and fell magic of the Cthulhu Mythos.

What you need for the Call of Cthulhu 7th edition roleplaying game

To run or play a game of Call of Cthulhu 7th edition the Investigator Handbook, the Keeper Rulebook, and a set of polyhedral Dice are needed.

The Call of Cthulhu Investigator Handbook and Call of Cthulhu Keeper Rulebook are available at the Peabody Institute of Danvers or through interlibrary Loan.

Starfinder Alien Archive

Dungeons & Dragons has the Monster Manual, for the galaxy spanning adventures of Starfinder there is the Alien Archive. In this core book you will find a variety of antagonists, aliens, and star-spanning horrors. My personal favorite is the Assembly Ooze, a cross between the Dungeons & Dragons’ Gelatinous Cube and a 3D Printer.

What you need for the Starfinder roleplaying game

To run or play a game of Starfinder all you need is the Starfinder Core Rulebook, the Starfinder Alien Archive or D20 compatible Monster Manual, and a set of Polyhedral Dice.

The Starfinder Core Rulebook and Starfinder Alien Archive are available at the Peabody Institute of Danvers or through interlibrary loan.

7th Sea Core Rulebook

Return to Théah with the latest edition of the 7th Sea roleplaying game. This is a world inspired by pre-Renaissance Europe with a dash of Swashbuckling & Sorcery. Daring musketeers take on pirates, sorcerers, and creatures beyond time and space.

To run or play a game of 7th Sea all you need is the 7th Sea Core Rulebook and a handful of ten-sided dice.

City of Mist-Core Rulebook

City of Mist is a quick pick-up and play game similar to Monster of the Week. In this Apocalypse System RPG players take the role of street level operatives with mythic abilities.
