Teacher Services Grades 6 through 12

The Peabody Institute Library connects students and educators with the critical information resources of the public library. The goal of the Library staff is to increase the information literacy of students in Danvers by working in partnership with local schools.

Menu of Services for Teachers and School Library Staff:

  • Assignment Alerts! Tell us about your upcoming assignments and we can provide you and your students with sources that will improve their work product such as webliographies (list of appropriate web sites), annotated booklists and pathfinders/guides to research. The creation of these resources requires a two week lead time.

  • Library Know-How Training Sessions! Here at the library or in the classroom, we are happy to train you or your students to use the Library's Web Catalog,to effectively search our information databases and to locate and critically evaluate resources found on the web.

  • Check Us Out! Library Tours! We encourage class visits to view our collection and online resources and we are happy to provide orientations in the use of our materials.

  • Course Reserves - We are happy to place a portion of our collection on reserve
in the library to insure that all students have equal access to research materials.

  • Ask A Librarian! This page will help you connect with an information professional, here at the library, by telephone, by email or even in "real time", 24/7.
