The plan is to get Jace off the grid while police find the two killers. The result is the start of a nightmare. The killers, known as the Blackwell Brothers, are slaughtering anyone who gets in their way in a methodical quest to reach him. Now all that remains between them and the boy are Ethan and Allison Serbin, who run the wilderness survival program; Hannah Faber, who occupies a lonely fire lookout tower; and endless miles of desolate Montana mountains. The clock is ticking, the mountains are burning, and those who wish Jace Wilson dead are no longer far behind”

Marie on Those Who Wish Me Dead: “This one is very good!”

Kim’s Patron Review:

Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Thirteen year old Jace witnesses a brutal murder all while following a dare. Now he’s on the run from the perpetrators who have a uncanny ability to track down their prey. There’s only three people who stand between Jace and the Blackwell Brothers; Ethan and Allison Serbin who run a wilderness survival camp for teens, and Hannah Faber who’s in charge of a lookout tower in the endless woods of Montana’s mountains. Add to that a growing wildfire and things get explosive pretty quickly. I’ll get the bad news out of the way first. Those Who Wish Me Dead is pretty predictable and a good part of the story has been done before. BUT, I honestly don’t think Michael Koryta could write a bad book if he tried. Even though I guessed what was going to happen pretty much through most of the book, that didn’t stop me from tearing through it in one day. I loved Jace, Ethan, Allison, and Hannah. They all had vulnerabilities balanced by unexpected places of strength. The Blackwell Brothers are two of the weirdest, creepiest villains I’ve read in a while. And the ending while not your happily ever after type, tied up everything smoothly. I would recommend this to fans of contemporary thriller/suspense books.

Check the NOBLE catalog for the availability of this title

“When 13-year-old Jace Wilson witnesses a brutal murder, he’s plunged into a new life, issued a false identity and hidden in a wilderness skills program for troubled teens.
