Biography Book Club meets on the third Monday of the month (except July and August) at 6:30 pm on Zoom. New members are always welcome. To register, visit the library's
calendar of events, choose the event, and click on register. A zoom link will be emailed to the registrants the morning of the book club meeting.

2023 Reading Challenge Book Club will meet on the last Wednesday of every month. A monthly theme will be provided based on the
Massachusetts Center for the Book Reading Challenge, you pick the book, and then we meet to talk about our books and share recommendations.

I came across this book in the Children’s room and had seen it is really popular among patrons so I thought I would read it. The story follows a girl Emily, her brother, and mother as they process the sudden loss of their father and must move into their great-grandfather’s home to start over. Emily discovers her great grandfather was an inventor and the house is filled with lots of his gadgets. She finds an amulet in the dusty house and everything changes for her and the amulet gives her magical powers. I am always looking for more YA or Children’s graphic novels to recommend to patrons and this one is definitely one I would share with a reluctant reader. It is a quick read and full of action and adventure! I was surprised to find the book had come out in 2008 but I had only just heard about it.
