I have just finished reading Gone with a Handsomer Man by Michael West and truly enjoyed it. If you are looking for Shakespeare, forget about this book. However, if you are just looking for an out and out fun read, then you have found it with this book. Having grown up in the greater Boston area I could see where people outside of the Southeast might find the characters unbelievable, but having lived in Charleston, SC for close to twenty years, I can attest to the authenticity of these characters. In fact, I actually told two women, aka Southern Bells or should I say “Southern Cuckoos” who I work with, Ms. Sheri Harmon and Ms. Nina Johnson-West, that they had to read this book as I could definitely picture them throughout some of these pages. So, if you want a good laugh and some out and out entertainment be sure to check out Gone with a Handsomer Man.
