The Danvers Public Library now has two digital talking book players to loan out to patrons. These are special audio books designed for people who are unable to read print books because of a disability.
We also have sample Talking Books for use with the player. You can borrow them and either return to the library when done or send them directly back to Perkins through the mail. Shipping to Perkins is free.
NOTE: The players however have to be returned to the Danvers Public Library after use.
The players are on loan to us from the Perkins Braille and Talking Books library. If you or some you know has a disability that makes it hard to read print books, this is a way to learn about and try this amazing new technology. People who qualify can even apply to Perkins to use their library services and order a new player.Â
