Friends of the Library Membership Drive for 2023 starts now!

New and renewing members of the Friends who join by January 31, 2023 are automatically entered into a drawing for a $50 Daniella’s gift card.

The Goals of the Friends:

  • Promote the Library
  • Sponsor community events & activities
  • Raise funds
  • Support Library projects & goals
  • Encourage gifts, endowments and memorials

The Friends of the Peabody Institute Library is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated
to supporting the Library in all its activities. In addition to creative & educational programs
and renovation projects, the Friends sponsor the Museum Pass Program, annual Book Sale,
Holiday Open House, annual Staff & Volunteer Luncheon, a Classical Music Series and more.

Join us at one of our meetings!

Meetings are open to the public and are usually held the third Wednesday of most months.  We welcome new members any time and encourage coming by to see what we are all about. Please check the Event Calendar for meeting times and location.

Highlights from the Friends Board Meeting, October 2022

  • A Classical Music Concert with Egle Jarkova will be held on Saturday, November 19 from 2-4pm in the Gordon Room.
  •  A Zoom program on “How to Go on Ice and Snow” will be presented by AAA on November 29 from 7-8pm.
  • The Annual Holiday Open House will be held on Sunday, December 4 from 2-4pm in the Gordon and Children’s Rooms.
  • There are now nine venues as part of the Museum Pass Program which can be found at https://www.danverslibrary.org/museum-passes/. The passes for the Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) and the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) were recently renewed. A pass for a new museum in downtown Peabody, the North Shore Children’s Museum which opened in October, was approved.
  • The membership drive for the Friends of the Peabody Institute Library of Danvers began in October.
