Mask Requirement in Town Offices

Effective February 28, 2022, mask wearing will shift from mandatory to optional in Town offices for vaccinated employees or vaccinated members of the public.  Please note that the latest guidance from the CDC (available here) considers “up to date” vaccination status to include booster shots.  Most of our vaccinated employees are also boosted, and the Town strongly encourages scheduling booster shots if not yet done.

At this time, consistent with CDC guidance, unvaccinated employees are still required to wear masks while at work (except when working outdoors and at a safe distance from coworkers).  Vaccinated employees who interact indoors with the public in close proximity (e.g. at a counter without a plexiglass barrier) are required to wear a mask while interacting with the public, as members of the public are not required to disclose their vaccination status.  Departments will enforce these rules with the support of HR and Public Health.
