Ari Reviews: Crumbs – Danie Stirling

This was such a great, charming, and sweet romantic young adult graphic novel that had all the feels and an amazing  storyline.  Crumbs is about a teen named Ray who is a seer that is trying to figure out her place in the world as well as work on her magical powers she has been gifted with. Ray discovers a local bakery in her town that is no ordinary bakery; it contains sweets and goods that are especially handmade to help others’ dreams come true. Ray becomes fond of  one of the bakery’s treats and drinks, which is hot tea with a side of romance and becomes fond of the barista named Lauire who works there.  As Ray and Laurie see each other at the bakery and outside of it they start to fall for one another which allows Ray to experience first love and friendship. Ray discovers love and romance is not so simple and both her and Laurie are trying to chase their dreams and goals of him becoming a professional musician and Ray developing her magical abilities which include seeing the future and hoping to get a seat on the Counsel in her internship while trying to make their relationship work and blossom. Will Ray and Laurie have a happy ending? Will their dreams and goals come true and be achieved? You will have to read and check out this book to find out more.  I highly enjoyed reading this YA graphic novel and just loved how there were themes of magic, romance, adventure, family, friendship, and such a sweet story.  The characters in the book were charming and they had all things the reader can relate to in life whether it is finding your place in the world to experiencing your first love. The artwork in the book was absolutely stunning and it brings the characters and the world they live in to life. I recommend this book to teens and older who enjoy graphic novels, romance stories, magical worlds, paranormal stories, etc. This book will have you smiling, laughing, crying, and it is simply such an incredible read you will want to keep on reading as you go through the book ! It will not disappoint and highly suggest you check out Crumbs in our Noble Library catalog!
