Ari Reviews: Heart of the Sun Warrior – Sue Lynn Tann

When I saw this book in the catalog I had to place this one on hold to read and check out. I read the prequel to this book which is called The Daughter of the Moon Goddess. The Daughter of the Moon Goddess was an excellent read if you are interested in checking that one out as well. Heart of the Sun Warrior takes place in the Celestial Kingdom where our heroine Xingyin has freed her mother and all seems well and peaceful again in their lives. However, Xingyin and her family will have to flee their homeland when the emperor is determined to achieve higher power and wants to take away all the things that are part of Xingyin‘s life and her loved ones. This will also reveal a shocking secret that Xingyin will learn about her family’s past that will change her life forever. Xingyin will again have to fight for all she loves and seek refuge in the world of the Immortal Realm and other kin. She will come across various mythical creatures, old friends, monarchs, and enemies through her journey to try to stop the emperor’s plot to achieve control and power in her homeland. She will also have to face challenging obstacles and decisions to save everything that is dear to her before she could possibly lose all she has around her. Will Xingyin be able to save everyone and the world she holds her heart to ? Will she stop the emperor’s plan to take over everything in the Celestial Kingdom? You will need to read more to find out! I highly recommend this book. I loved how similar the book was to the first one in the series which had a lot of action, adventure, fantasy, family, romance, and mythology. The whole storyline was very intense, filled with a lot of twists and turns that made you want to find out what was going to happen to Xingyin through her journeys in the Immortal Realm and the other kingdoms she encounters. I love Xingyin as the main character in both books because she is a strong leader, independent, courageous, and stands by her loved ones no matter what. If you enjoy mythology, fantasy, historical fiction, adventure, romance, and a book full of twists and turns, I encourage you to read the prequel “Daughter of the Moon Goddess” and this one as well to your reading list. It was one of my most favorite reads of 2022 ! The book is incredible and you will not want to put this book down at all!
